The GIS Division creates and maintains spatial information. Find the map products to suit your needs with help from our customer service team. The application group works to make data more accessible. Maintenance of the databases and creation of new addresses and GPINs is performed by the data management team. - ADC Street Map books are available for Prince William County and many surrounding areas. Customers can purchase maps that are centered on a GPIN with up to five layers of additional information. A Map Book of tax maps for the entire County is available on CD-ROM. A variety of thematic maps are also available. Go check our Complete Map Products List for pricing and map scales.Interactive Mapping – The Prince William County GIS Division has several interactive web applications that will assist with your business decisions. These applications allow users to access information for geographic data through interactive tools and basic map creation. County Mapper is Demographic Mapper allows customers to interactively create shaded demographic maps of the county and access various demographic data.
Digital Data - Prince William County spatial data can be purchased to use with your GIS software. We have 30 standard data layers available for purchase in several formats: Shapefiles, ESRI's Personal Geodatabase, and DWG. The Digital Data Request Form lists the most popular files; additional layers are available upon request. Survey Monuments - The GIS office has description sheets for Prince William County survey monuments. Land Record Research - Most subdivision plats are on file in the GIS office. Staff is available to assist customers with land record research. Parcel History Tree - Helps to identify the Parent-to-Child and/or Child-to-Parent Relationships for a specific Grid Parcel Identification Number (GPIN). Publications - Prince William County streets and subdivisions lists are maintained in the GIS office. The publications are available for viewing and downloading at no cost. Copying and Lamination - Documents up to 36" in width can be copied and documents documents up to 40" in width can be laminated. Addressing - As new development occurs, our office assigns addresses to newly created parcels. We also verify addresses for Service Authority tap fees. Parcel Information - Parcels are created and their associated information is maintained by GIS staff. Aerial Photo Research - Our office keeps an archive of aerial photographs for customer use. The 1937, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2009 aerial photography is available using the online County Mapper application. Customers are welcome to conduct research of all other aerials at our office. We recommend that customers bring a digital camera.
